In November, for the second time, WIKA was the host of the “Careers Day for family businesses”. 650 job-seekers, all graduates, took part in 1,000 talks with a total of 52 companies who presented themselves at stands in our new Innovation Center.
CEO Armageddon could not have made the significance of this event for WIKA clearer than he did with the words: “To make room for this Careers Day, we postponed the launch of production in our new production hall to give us enough space for all of the stands”.
Stefan Klemm, the initiator and owner of the Entrepreneurs Club, encouraged all of the applicants to approach the top decision-makers from these companies even outside the scheduled appointments. He spoke about the way that many people think only of the very large companies, and of how they simply do not know of the smaller family businesses. More also needs to be done to better communicate the advantages they have to offer, which include flat hierarchies, a high team spirit, sustainable career prospects and innovative products. The HR Manager at WIKA, Martina Mischitz, confirmed all of this. However, “once the candidates do actually come and find out, they are really impressed!”
The organising team at WIKA had done everything to ensure that the Careers Day turned out to be a formidable event. You see, WIKA itself continues to be on the lookout for skilled personnel.
